Brunelle: who says you don’t have a double?
François Brunelle is a Canadian photographer who is fascinated by portraits. He dedicates all his work to capturing portraits which describe the ‘indescribable human soul’ he affirms. ‘I’m not look-alike!’ is a project that brings together two people who are very similar in one photograph (doubles). François states that he is fascinated by the fact that two people, who are complete strangers, have no family ties and are from different countries share the same facial and physical features. The photographs are all taken in black and white. Brunelle admits that this technique allows him to eliminate superfluous details such as the hair colour and focusses on the essential aspects. The objectives are to put together two hundred of these portraits, set up an exhibition and launch a book. Until now, he has about half. The project is still in the process of being executed and we can all take part. In order to do this, if you know two people who are very similar you can join this adventure. Portuguese version
