North Korea: we see via instagram a country no-one sees

The buildings are more similar to each other than dupond and dupont. There are floating houses which emerge from the imagination of someone who has a small boat and computers that should be museum pieces. Grey seems to be everywhere, even where there isn’t any. There is a picture with the ‘hair styled socialists’. There are those who wear a pin with a photograph of Kim Jong-Il on their jackets. These are portraits of North Korea, where the most closed regime in the world exists. Via his account on instagram, David Guttenfelder, an Associated Press photographer, reveals images which he affirms to the The Week are like ‘the opening of a window to a place which, in any other way, would be difficult for outsiders to see’.
